Obliterating endarteritis
Filed under Cardiovascular systemFeb 10Obliterating endarteritis most often occurs after long term cold, trauma, infections. It is more characteristic to 30-40 years old men. During the disease the blood vessels of bottom limbs are damaged: the arterial spasms occur at the beginning, veins may also be cramped or the thrombosis of these blood vessels together with inflammatory phenomena may develop and then obliteration process (demolition of blood vessels, collateral spasms) starts.
Symptoms of obliterating endarteritis: fast tiredness when walking, pain in toes and in the area of dual muscles of the shin, coldness of limbs, constantly repeating hobbling, disappearance of pulse in the top part of feet. Later gangrene may develop because of long term blood vessel spasms and obliteration (disappearance) phenomena progressing. Three stages of the illness are distinguished. Massage is applied in the first and second stage of the illness.
Purpose of massage: interventions of blood vessels, improvement of collateral blood circulation, nutritional circulation and metabolism (in the tissues of injured limb), removal of trophic phenomena helping to avoid gangrene, removal of pain and repeating hobbling.
